On Saturday, July 1, 2017, JessiKate Riley had the opportunity to share her talent at the final night of the Miss Washington Scholarship Pageant.
She played a piece titled, “Souvenirs d’Amérique,” by Henri Vieuxtemps. This classical showpiece is based on the melody of “Yankee Doodle,” and is extra special to JessiKate because it was her talent piece at the Miss America Outstanding Teen Pageant, where she received a non-finalist talent award.
Her advice to aspiring musicians who don’t love practicing, but love to perform is to, “Do your best to make each and every practice session a performance.”
